Code of Conduct

You must agree to uphold this Code as a condition of entry and participation in our events. Please have a chat if you have any questions or concerns, or contact us.

Respect & Politeness: Treat everyone with respect, regardless of background, identity, or ability and show high regard. Everyone is invited to dance.

Leading & Following: Anyone can lead or follow, and the decision is based on preference, comfort, and mutual trust, not gender norms.

Asking for a Dance: Always verbally ask for a dance; an honest ‘no’ is welcome.

Enthusiastic Consent: Seek consent and respect ongoing consent when dancing.

Boundaries: Communicate and respect boundaries, including when asking for dances or engaging in close embrace.

Unsolicited Advice: Do not offer advice or corrections unless requested.

Personal Hygiene: Maintain good hygiene for the comfort of your dance partners.

Safe Dance Practices: Avoid dips / lifts and be mindful of others’ space on the dance floor.

Photography: Obtain verbal permission before taking photos and avoid inappropriate imagery.

Community Safety: The safety, inclusivity, and well-being of all participants are prioritised at events. Violations of the Code of Conduct can be reported in-person or by email. Violations may result in suspension or banning from events.

Harassment: Any form of harassment, including unsolicited intimate behaviour, unwelcome romantic advances or flirtation, coercive language, unwanted physical touch, or other non-consensual behaviour, will not be tolerated. If you’re not sure, ask.

Responsibility to Look Out for One Another:
Look out for the well-being of others, offer help if needed, and speak up if something feels wrong.
